Uninvited in the Dust is written by Nobel Prize-winning author William Faulkner and published in 1948. Faulkner wrote the work as a Southern writer in response to racial problems in the South, which was well received and a film was made the following year. The story is about a black farmer named Lucas Bichamp who is accused of killing a white man. He tries to prove his innocence with the help of black and white teenagers and an old lady from a noble southern family.
